Every track on Reasons Why first engages the emotions but then makes a direct connection to the intellect. Seducing you into feeling past pains that you had hoped to leave behind long ago, the arrangements seem to have the uncanny power to force you into reflecting on the upside of any situation.Songs like "Captiva" really can't be appreciated until at least the third or fourth time you hear them. At least one theme emerges from this surprisingly eclectic first CD: "don't give up -- we may be prisoners of our feelings but that doesn't mean we're hostages to our past."
