"Back in 1983, when cd was young, a friend of mine bought the first technics cd player available, which was delivered with a demo cd. This cd contained a track by Larry coryell entitled Sheherazade. I liked it very much and I learned that this track was on a Japanese Philips cd. After a search of 23 years(!) Looking for it in every cd store, trying to order it, searches on the Internet... i finely found it (Thank you Amazon!). The music is primly by Rimsky korsakov and Ravel and is arranged in a beautiful manner by Mr.Coryell for solo acoustic guitar. This is not a jazz cd, nor is it classical. It is just fine music i think. Anyone who loves to hear acoustic guitar played by a great player will like this recording. As always when only one instrument is used to recreate the whole score, much is left to the imagination of the listener (Like on Bolero) But Mr.Coryell has succeeded in letting the listener believe he (or she) isn't missing anything. Well recommended, five stars, next..."
Beautiful music!

"Scheherazade by Coryell is a treat not to be missed! Played on 6 string guitar, it is a stunning tribute to the music and to the instrument. His playing on the The Young Prince and the Young Princess will make you cry if you close your eyes and imagine a scene of young lovers first meeting, talking, dancing...

The version of Bolero (played on a 12 string) on this disk is excellent. However, I would say that his version on Visions In Blue is superior (i.e., stunning).

Overall one of my favorite Larry Coryell disks."
