The Voice The World Has Yet To Recognize
VAB | New York, New York USA | 10/17/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Lara Fabian is not a Celine Dion wannabe nor duplicate. And she has no need to rival Celine, she has cemented her mark in Europe longer than Celine. To Europeans Celine was probably trying to RIVAL Lara. I adamantly disagree with the previous reviewers rating and description. If you want great music, great lyrics, great vocals, and passion and energy in your music. So the music can stir a deeper meaning from you, then this is the singer, not just this album but all her albums.
And she is not competition for Celion Dion. She surpasses Celine Dion's vocals, Celine has never reached the notes Lara has reached time and time again, nor has Celine can or have put the emotion in her music that Lara has or can. Not only that Lara writes her own music, and has been in the business as long as Celine, Celine only made it in America. That's what puts Celine in another class. But Lara has all of Europe and Canada. And sorry but Celine does not write her own music. I have more respect and props in an artist that stays true to what they are, an Artist. And Lara does, to write your own music in this day and age, is amazing, and much love and respect to her. She doesn't need other writers like the BeeGee's and that lady that wrote that song for 'Titanic'. Lara wrote the most beautiful and heartwrenching song, 'Adagio' that surpasses that 'Titanic' song anyday. Not only that she sings in Italian, English, French, and Spanish on her album, I have not seen Celine ever do that.
And I admit her marketing company did a horrible job. They brought her to American audiences right after Celine's retirement. And Cher's debut 'out of retirement' album. Bad timing; really bad timing. Every song out of the 14 or so songs, I give 5 of them a 9.5 they were well done, nothing forced pure emotion. And her lyrics are beautiful. Always makes my heart race and makes me want to share my life with someone forever, if love is like the way she writes them. 'The pain is worth all the love. And if it doesn't work out, so what? I'll find someone new, that is part of road of life.' That's what I sense in her music. It's just great. The other 9 songs are perfect 10's. They hit the right note and I find this and actually all her albums breathtaking. Investing in this or all her albums would be one of the best investments. Another great French-singer investments is Patricia Kaas, both these women make my heart stop with their vocals. If you want proof, I work in the music industry and I happen to be a buyer for World Music. So I know many musicians and what they sound like and who is breathtaking."
