"I was so glad to find this recording. In one of my past vinyl collections, which I no longer have, was a recording of the Jazz Mass by Paul Horn and assorted west coast luminaries. The story goes that it was recorded after midnight in a dimmly lit studio in LA to acheive the proper effect. Mission accomplished. Anyway, that recording seems to have gone out of print, at least I haven't been able to locate it. Have no fear, this recording featuring Tom Scott in a live setting in Cologne is fantastic. The recording is excellent and the performance is inspired.

I couldn't recommend a CD any higher than this. Lalo's genius here, is his ability to convert sacred texts into a coherent jazz arrangement and leave plenty of room for improvisation. Very, Very Tasty!!!!!!!!!!"
