Synopsis

Album Description
A sumptuous blend of upbeat pop and introspective lyrical themes, The Ladies & Gentlemen is the project from Thomas Darcy (The Carnations) who wrote, performed, and produced 'Small Sins' on his own. Like Grandaddy and The Postal Service, electronic elements dominate 'Small Sins', but despite a myriad of keyboards, electronic effects, and drum machines, the organic feel of the album is never compromised. 10 total tracks. Universal. 2005.

Small Sins Unplugged
JBT | Atlanta, GA USA | 10/24/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Wow. Here is a study in contrasts. I happened upon Small Sins opening for Scissor Sisters in Atlanta recently and was totally blown away by the bands energy and the crowds positive reaction. Small Sins came across as an amped up New Order and their live set was charged and vibrant. I got the cd and wouldn't recognize it as the same band but love it just the same -- could be titled Small Sins Unplugged. The cd is GREAT lo'fi with plenty of melody and texture -- check out the single "Stay". A reallly great band that deserves a wide audience."
Small Sins is Hugely Impressive

"I saw the Ladies and Gentlemen at a Matthew Good concert. They are a synth, simple drum beat, and melody based indie band. The music is reminiscent of The Postal Service but perhaps even more melodic. Amazing album! i highly reccomend this band to anybody who enjoys music. "Stay" "Small Sins/Big Within" "We Won't Last the Winter" are my favorite tracks."
