Dire Straits Fans: Put Your Ears On This!

""Lips Against The Steel" has that early Dire Straits sound that always left me wanting more. Mark's little brother really shines on Whispers of Gethsemane, Heat Comes Down, and To Feel This Way Again. It is beyond me how this album slipped beneath the radar of commercial air play and critics - it is so marketable... And, down right remarkable!David has turned out a bunch of quality CDs since parting company with Dire Straits. His Britsh country life style has provided him the opportunity to explorer the far reaches of creativity while out the spot light and off the the road. All of his albums, before and after this, where masterpieces to themselves, but none had this Straits sound. I am not even sure David was looking to reproduce the Sultains, but it's in the Knopfler genes and it surfaces on this album. I am certainly glad that it did.Perfect orchestration and lyrics blend this into an unforgetable find. I was fortunate enough to uncover a couple of singles from this album in the late eighties and the melodies are still ingrained in my synapses.Treat yourself to this before it totally disappears from availability."
