CD Reviews

Oliver Lieb is The Master of electronic music
Douglas A. Greenberg | Berkeley, CA USA | 07/13/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"In the U.S. we hear a lot of discussion in hushed tones about Richard James, Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, and other alleged "geniuses" of electronic music. Those guys are fine, but Oliver Lieb is the Real Deal, a master of trance/techno/ambient compositions whose work always makes me sit up and take notice. He records under several names, including Spicelab and Paragliders, but his most masterful work, I think, is done as "L.S.G." This album, which includes his best-known piece, "Netherworld," is by a very small margin, his best, and is the one I would recommend to anyone curious about this remarkable man and his music."
Amazing trance!
J. Adams | Salt Lake City, Utah USA | 03/17/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you like good, intelligent, layered/built trance, and you can get hold of this, or most anything by L.S.G. (Oliver Lieb), you'll probably be glad you did. I love this cd, as well as his other "Rendevous in Outer Space". His music is exciting to me because it has the repetition to make me wanna move, AND it also has intriguing melodic builds, layers of sounds and percussions and samples that add and fade at the right moments to build and release musical tensions."
