CD Reviews

Another great effort by L'ame Immortelle
E. Anderson | 10/25/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"L'ame Immortelle is one of my all time favorite bands in the industrial genre. I have been a fan since I first heard them on a Cleopatra Records compilation several years ago. I try to make a point of buying their music whenever they put out new music. NAMENLOS is my latest purchase. NAMENLOS picks up where AUF DEINEN SCHWINEN left off a couple of years ago. The music still has a bit of hard rock influence but now the band fuses it with their gothic and industrial roots. I love the female/male dynamics of Sonja Kraushofer and Thomas Rainer. The dynamics has that beauty and the beast aspect, Sonja's smooth, polished vocals would be beauty to Thomas's course, aggressive beast-like vocals. The duo sings in both English and Austrian which I always enjoy. The songs themselves are classic L'ame Immortelle. I really like the more uptempo songs especially when Thomas Rainer sings. They have a lot of energy and I totally dug the aggressiveness of the songs, especially on "Es Tut Mir Leid" (my favorite song on the album that Thomas sings lead on). Sonja sounds as great as always. I really liked her on "Behind the Light". The bonus disc includes cover versions of several tracks on NAMENLOS. The last track on the second disc is a spoken word essay of "Errinerung" by Thomas Sabottka. The second disc wasn't too bad but I could have easily lived without it. My only gripe with NAMENLOS is the price. Thankfully I was able to local a cheaper copy via Amazon.com. All in all L'ame Immortelle put out another great album."
Buy it cheaper at Metropolis

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Like most goth/EBM alternative music you can get this much cheaper through Metropolis records, I just bought it for $20."
