Light Years Away...

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Recorded 10 years ago and released 9 years ago, The period between then and now does seem like light years ago. Luckily this album is not dated like any of Kylie's earlier efforts. It is still enjoyable.

1. Password- Bonus track I believe, upbeat and fun song. 3 out of 5

2.Spinning Around-Holds up very well, though I feel the song has been weakend by Kylie's Fever. 5 out of 5

3. On A Night Like This-This song has that late 90s feel to it-back when things still felt a bit romantic. 5 out 5

4. So Now Good-bye-Disco feel with modern beats. Very enjoyable song. 4 out of 5.

5. Disco Down-All I can say is that while this song is no classic, its still fun. 3 out of 5

6. Loveboat-This song makes me picture Gilligan's Island campiness and just being on a luxury liner-this song holds up so well Its my favorite and just so fun! 5 out of 5

7.Koocachoo-Doesnt stand out but that doesnt make it bad-its a better pop song than what was on a dozen teen bopper albums from that time. 3 out of 5

8. Your Disco Needs You -This song loses a star for the very village people opening- I hear the remix is better but I havent heard it so all I can say is that the verses and the beats are fine-but this isnt a song I want anyone hearing me listen to it out loud.3 out of 5

9. Please Stay-Has that late 90s feel with the guitar sound-its okay but its not my faves. 3 out of 5

10. Bittersweet Good-bye-the ballad on the album. Not as good as Kylie's best jazzy ballad Stay This Way but sweetly good. 3 out of 5.

11. Butterfly-I like it though it doesnt have the best beat. 3 out of 5

12. Under the influence of Love-A girly good song. 4 out of 5

13. I'm So High-Same as 12. 4 out of 5

14. Kids-A big duet hit-I never got the appeal here in the States(Robbie Williams never hit our shores) so 3 out of 5.

15. Light Years-Blast off-Dated Futuristic sound but a good song. 4 out of 5

Overall an album that holds up well, even better than Fever-because once you overplay that album and the tracks tire you-light years is a good album to fall back on."

"Love this album, Light Years is one of Kylie Minogue's best album this decade, The track 'Your Disco Needs You' got me hooked right after the first beat drop, 'Butterfly' made just soar, and the track 'Spinning Around' was just killer. Over all though this one album that I will probably be still listening to for light years to come. Disco Down, So Now Goodbye, were killer break up songs. Light Years the title track was awesome as well. Over all the only track on this album that I did not like was Bittersweet Goodbye which seemed to be a leftover track from her previous album Impossible Princess."
