"I am really excited about these guys, they are doing something nobody is doing right now. They seem like one of those bands that will be influential in punk and crust circles for years to come if they stay together. Their new record drops pretty soon, that jonks gonna be blazin'.

The guitars sound really distorted and ugly, which is something the first record lost in production. "A 110 Degree Heat Index" is brilliant, it's a psychedelic colored sludge metal masterpiece. Something about their songwriting is unique and unmistakable... like the doomscape at the end of this song, it's totally random and appropriate, but how many bands would've thought of that?

Kylesa rep Nausea pretty hard... and the whole female vocal thing and all... so the Nausea cover is so appropriate. You can tell they're way into Black Sabbath too (much like Nausea), something shared by labelmates and fellow representatives of the "dirty dirty", Baroness. "No Ending" gets lead billing but it's the least interesting jam here, that's not saying much.

These guys are punk rock in the truest sense of the word, but their music is interesting enough to appeal to fans of stoner metal or mastodon or whatever. They tour alot. See them. Drink with them. Provide them with food and shelter. Kylesa is gonna rock heads in '05."

"The song 100 Degree Heat Index is worth the price alone."
