"When I listened to this superbly-performed and produced Ukrainian disk for the first time, something nagged at me: Where had I heard these themes before? Then it dawned on me that Archbishop Ionafan merged Russian Orthodox choral form with themes directly from Latin Gregorian chant (I recognized themes from the Requiem Mass and Missa De Angelis/Mass VIII, among others; Track 23 on this disk is an adaptation of Gregorian Credo III; and so on). If you're familiar with Gregorian Masses, you'll have a semi-dejavu experience like I did. This is beautiful music from two traditions at once. Never heard anything like it. But it works!"

"I first became aware of this on the Hearts of Space radio program([...]) compilation "Sacred Treasures V", which contained four short tracks. I've been searching for over a year for the entire performance; I finally have it, and it is absolutely stunning. The sound absolutely washes over and envelopes you. It's 70 minutes of bliss. If you enjoy the voice as an instrument, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better recording."
