CD Reviews

Kristine W FLIES STRONGER!
Brett D. Cullum | Houston, TX United States | 10/25/2003

"This is what all dance music should be -- personal, uplifting and lots of soul! This is Kristine's first release on an independent label, and right after her battle with cancer. So you get a sense of freedom and relief right off the bat. This set comes with two CDs -- one album, and one continuous remix overseen by Chris Cox. So two very strong CDs at a great price!Kristine is not content to give you just a dance album although all signs point to the fact she could do just that. Heavy house beats are interlaced with deep moving lyrics, and the album transcends anything typical or safe. I've seen her live and can attest she has a prowess with big vocals and can play many instruments! This is an artist giving you something quite personal and well-crafted. Interestingly enough some of the tracks made me cry, some made me want to just dance, and many made me want to do both. Every time she releases an album somebody proclaims "This is THE DANCE album of the year!" Easily she captures that spot. I love Kristine W and FLY AGAIN."
AMAZING CD!!!!!!!DISREGUARD THE NEGATIVITY

"Hello To All,
I first want to say to anybody who is thinking about purchasing this CD to "IGNORE THE EVIL." I've been reading some reviews, and have found them to be "LIES" "TRULY NEGATIVE" and "VERY FALSE." It's a shame how others can ruin others spirit. In this world, there are many minds that have been poisoned with negativity and lunacy. Some of the individuals who have poasted past reviews fall into that category. THIS ALBUM IS THE BEST I'VE HEARD ALL YEAR. Finally "Real Music" Finally "Meaningful Music" Finally "Music To Touch Your Heart." I didn't even know Kristine had a new album, until I saw the amazing "Fly Again" Video in my local Bar. What a Video!!! I ran and bought this CD. Kristine W has blessed her fanbase with three amazing albums all capturing unique sounds, and all capturing versality. For those who continuosuly attack this album and her for not giving us a "Land Of The Living TWO" "SEEK HELP." Artists in all genre's of music want to be different and versatile with each album. Kristine W. has already given a "Land Of The Living" album. We don't need another one. "Land Of The Living" is a phenonomanal album, and that is just that. "Stronger" captured a Pop/Dance Sound, and was also INCREDIBLE. "Fly Again" captures all different sounds and is in a category by itself. In my opinion "Land Of The Living" and "Fly Again" do have similarities. "Living Out Loud" is the sequel to the "Land Of The Living" Track. Why would an artist want to do the same album "TWICE" especially when the artist is Kristine W, who has limitations with Record Labels, and Acceptance in the Music Indsutry. Every song on this Cd had me captivated, including "Broken" "No comment from the peanut gallery. This album was a great deal, and DISC TWO IS AMAZING. The COVER is very eye catching, and if this album doesn't get recognition now, it will one day. Certain individuals are letting their distorted opinions and wrongful expectations ruin this CD for them. It's really such a shame, because it's so much better to learn to like something, then be unhappy with it. This album is a work of art, and some of the best music I've heard. Thank god for "Kristine W", thank god for her survival, and thank god for this album. PERIOD. Thank You."
Give her ONE MORE TRY!! She's STRONGER and FLYing AGAIN!!!

"I've been waiting for this release all summer, and now here it is, FINALLY!!!! After listening to this album, I have to say that I love it!!! A lot of the sound is typical Kristine...she always brings a little fun and drama to her music. What I love about her material is that there is always a mixture of dance, cabaret, jazz, electronica, and even live instruments (she plays a mean sax!!), not to mention that charismatic, powerful voice that you cannot deny as being striking! Everything from the production to packaging, from songwriting to harmonious beats and melodies, this is definitely a must try, especially for long time KW fans like myself!!My personal favorite track is Track 2- "I'll Be your Light", which unfortunately happens to be on the two songs that Kristine did NOT co-write, but o'well, it's still HOT!!! It starts off with a little freestyle sound, then progresses into a warm summer pop dance song. It has the same effect on me as Amber's "Love on You". If you guys have some doubts about buying her album, AT LEAST buy the single "I'll be your Light", if it's available. Track 5- "Living Out Loud" is very similar to "Land of the Living", in terms of slow cabaret jazzy opening, then after a minute, she slams you with dance beats!! This is another favorite.Track 11 "Song Lives On" seems to describe her formative years, her rich musical background, and how a song will never die, even through generations. Pretty cool, I think.Track 12 "Big Big Band" seems a little bit campy, but of course, this is Kristine we're talking about. The song is bit slower, but lyrics are very interesting. Again, she's throws a little drama in there with her sax!!!My least favorite is Track 4- Broken. Something about it, I don't know what.Bottom line, the album is what I consider "intelligent dance music" with lots of variety and elements of different music genres, as well as depth and solidity in the songs. If you plan on buying the album, listen to all tracks and keep an open mind. KW is definitely not mainstream, so she's easy to dismiss. It took me a several attempts to get into some tracks, but once you absorb the album, you'll love it, for sure. The album is about 56 minutes long with twelve songs.Oh yeah, and the remixes CD is a great bonus!!! For those clublanders, this will be a nice little treat!! Chris Cox did a fantastic job on those. Fly Again (Scumfrog club mix) is HOT!!!! The remix album is about 44 minutes long, with seven songs on it (so about 6-8 minutes per song.)"
