CD Reviews

German Thrash Godz!!!!!

"Pleasure to Kill is by far Kreator's heaviest, most brutal release. Songs like Ripping Corpse and Riot of Violence are worth the price of the CD alone!! If you don't have this record already, only one word comes to mind....POSER!!"
OH YEEEEEAAAH! KILLER ALBUM!

"What can I say? Many albums claim to be equal to Slayer's "Reign In Blood," but "Pleasure to Kill" is the only one that can measure up to that thrash masterpiece. Mille and company lay waste to every thing in their path on this release...if you don't beleive me, just get this thing! The production is raw enough to enhance the aggression, but its a LOT better than on "Endless Pain." There are a few slower moments like "Riot of Violence" and "Take Their Lives," but overall this is a really fast album. My only complaint would be the guitar solos, which are basically maniacal tapping and whammy diving, but for the music they're playing here, it suits the insanity that is so prevelant. FEEL THE PLEASURE TO KILL!"
Makes Slayer look like the Backstreet Boys

"Next to Sodom, Kreator have been the Leaders of Germany's Trash-Metal Movement and "Pleasure to kill" is certainly their best album ( next to "Renewal" ). After the great Intro "Choir of the Dammed" they continiue to make Slayer look like the Backstreet Boys with the following 8 Tunes. Singer Mille variates between deep growling Vocals( "Death is your Savior") and high-pitch screams ("Pleasure to kill") and sounds really pissed off thoughout the whole record. The title track has to be one of the best metal songs ever written. The really cool thing about this band is that they avoid a lot of common "metal"-clichees, especially on their other great album "Reneval", which is a little milestone on it's own. After all, Kreator remain the best Metal-Band that ever came out of Germany ( I'm not talking about puppy-radio Bands like Halloween ) and "Pleasure to Kill" is a must-buy or at least must-listen to for any serious metal head. Don't forget to get "Reneval" too!"
