"Take a Look in the Mirror is the best Korn CD since their first album. Korn is once again pissed off, and it reflects in the music and lyrics. There is a certain raw simplistic brutal sound that resonates through Take a Look in the Mirror, similair to that of Korn's first album. I have to admit, I was not looking forward to hearing this album, becasue of Issues and Untouchables, but I was surprised. This album is brutal."

Summary:

KoRn's latest album, which is a disappointment because of how well their previous albums were, still is a good and heavy album. The album starts with the second single, "Right Now", which is a good and heavy way to start an album. The next song, "Break Some Off", is the loudest and heaviest song on the album. "Counting On Me" and "Here It Comes Again" are good songs, that's all I can say about them, as with "Deep Inside". Continuing along, we come across the album's first single "Did My Time", which is just plain awesome! The next song, "Everything I've Known", has similar vocals to "Did My Time". They recently made a video for the song and it's cool, in my opinion. The next song, "Play Me", is the only song on the album I don't like that much, as it has a guest rapper and I hate rap. "Alive", "Let's Do This Now", and "I'm Done" are also very good songs and "Alive", along with the album's first two singles, is my favorite song on the album. The next song, "Y'all Want A Single", funny enough, IS the next single. It also is the the on the album with the most cursing, at 68 cuss words! The next song "When Will This End?" is another good song, but that's all I can say. There's a secret: Go into 9:45 in "When Will This End?" you get a bonus: A live cover of "One" by Metallica! From that song you get awesome vocals from Jonathan Davis. Bottom line: This album is just plain brilliant!

"KoRn has been a band that has done so well in the past decade, with 4 awsome records and one speed bump, this is their Prime. This CD features some amazeing songs like: Everything Ive Known or Here it Comes Again. They definetly went back to their old roots...but something this great always has somethings wrong with it. In the past KoRn had been this semi Metal-Rap band, only because they had these really cool, creepy, 80's horror like "hip-hop" beats. It was this sound and the heavy, "moshable" , catchy guitar riffs that got me into absoluly loveing KoRn. They did this, and did it well, up till "Untouchables" where they kinda lost grip of it. This CD, on the other hand, gathers back all the right ingrediance in makeing one hell of an album. This album is more Metal and less Nu-Metal. Anouthe iffyr thing was Jon Davises voice. It kinda gets messed up on this album. He is an excellent singer (like hell i could screame like that the way he does live....damn), but he looses his emotion, only a little. Way back when, you could tell he was pissed off on his records because he would sing through his teeth, and really, REALLY screame, unforgivingly. It maybe just my opinion, but on this record his screameing sounds fake, and distorted, and theres less then id hoped. The songs that really stand out are....well, every song except "Deep Inside" and "When Will this End". All the other songs are pure amazement!Btw, stop complaining about "Play Me". Its an awsome song, and if you could finda anouther rapper that can flow like Nas does on this record, id like to hear it!All and all, awsome record, buy it if you havent already! I am hopefull that their next record will fully reach my strict requirements.a little off-subject but: I WANT RAGE BACK! (I cant stand Audioslave!)"
