"This two-CD set has the best collection of instrumental and funk tunes recorded by Kool and the Gang. The discs are artfully divided into a relaxing "Summer Madness", "Wild and Peaceful" instrumental collection on Side 2; and an upbeat, "Jungle Boogie", "Open Sesame" funk-based Side 1. This dual set works very well for me, because it has the best jazz and funk/disco hits Kool and The Gang recorded in the early to mid-70's. Those who discovered this band in the early 80's will be happy to find the hit "Celebration" is included; however, they will also notice the omission of "Cherish"."
