UK compilation featuring 30 classic cuts from King Tubby, one of the greatest innovators in Jamaican & dance music generally, justifiably called 'The Dub Master'. Tubby, born in 1941, inventor of the whole 'dub' genre, remixing rock steady tracks in the late 1960's to make special 'dub' plates for sound system DJs, with the vocals cut & innovative fades & echo. From the 1970's he became reggae's most popular mixer working with every Jamaican producer of note & featuring top musicians 'Sly & Robbie' & 'The Aggrovates'. He enjoyed two decades at the top of the Jamaican reggae scene before being tragically gunned down outside his home in 1989.
