"i picked up this cd at the tower records in shibuya (which is in tokyo, japan). i was shocked to find kba there- i'd never seen their albums outside of oregon before.
what can be said about the 8 minute pop song? it's a brilliant concept. the melodies are smooth, and the band has actually added the use of a chorus and of hooks. compared to 'sunlit' (which is actually a better album), 'loves a long song' is a simple and easily accessible work. it also translates better to the stage; i've seen them quite a few times, and the songs from this album work perfectly live. the running times of the songs might seem kind of long, but eventually it just carries you away, and you don't notice at all that the last song is... 12 minutes long.
the only criticism i could make would be that daniel is not the top lyricist out there- however, the words fit fine with the music, which is the main selling point. when i first heard this, i thought that some of the songs could get radio play, which would lead to a wider audience for kba; although i think that their audience has expanded, it is not to the level i had hoped.this album deserves a listen based on sheer beauty. it is gorgeous and melodic; soft, sad, and sometimes rockin'. it's just good. it's just really, really good."

"I won this CD through a contest on my college's radio station. Having never heard of KBA, I had no idea what to expect of this album. It was remarkably good. The music has a soft melodious sound to it. Its an album that one can just listen to and get a feeling of total relaxation. I recomend this to anyone who feels a need for a slight change in their musical collection."
A Cosmic Journey

"This is perhaps my 3rd most favorite of the King Black Acid albumns. It was the first I bought and I loved it so much I had to have more. I won't compare them to other bands or singers. Your either a KBA person or you're not. I enjoy this music because many of the tracks are of significant length. If you like short sweet pop songs you might want to look somewhere else. If you like to take a journey into the realms of time and space then check out some of the tunes this group has created. It is a trip worth taking."
Earlier efforts a better, but great anyhow.

"One person gives 5 Stars to Britney Spears because she is soooo talented and 1 to King Black Acid?!? , well, there you have it, anyone that compares a high caliber rock band to anything done by Britney is absolutely deaf, so read well the other comments and ignore the one that is so out of context and fairness.Listen to the earlier albums, this guys are good, very good indeed !"
Psychidelic Vertuosity

"For the folks my age that still wish Pink Floyd was making the kind of music they made before they peaked with their overbearing creation,"the wall", KBA is a dose of what you desire. Pink Floyd they are not. But they capture the simple beauty of albums like Animals or Wish you were here and transform it into a modern day sound both vibrant and sweet and yet with a kick. Don't call it Psychidelic Punk. It is far superior due to its professional quality, raw simplicity, and stamina. I have listened to this album at least twenty times, and yet I still find it refreshing. I could give you a monologue about the special attributes of each and every song on the album, but the best thing I can say is that this is a must have recording for any fan of well produced and written rock."
