"I saw Kim and the Caballeros in a bar in Taos New Mexico where the locals were having the time of their lives dancing to as good a live band as I have ever heard. It's four months later, and I'm listening to the cd I bought from them at the break. Haven't put it on since I returned but I see it in the corner and lay it in the cd player.

My fourteenth floor apartment here in Hong Kong, where I'm writing this, is a long way from Taos, but I have just been listening to Gram Parsons, and now Kim and the Caballeros - Gram would have loved it, I'm sure. Listening to this I am dreaming of New Mexican deserts and mountains, and Kim and the band make a perfect soundtrack for reminiscences about dancing in a bar one night in Taos. There might be better things to do in the world - but not many."
