The stripped down production and unusual instrumentation (including a bass-less quartet held down by Lambchop's Deanna Varagona), complements Kane's writing to chilling effect. "How is it that we hear many weeks in advance about releases by some marginal "performers" and this cd, I have to stumble across? Here's a heads up of for you. This will be one of the most satisfying and interesting music purchases of your year. The quality of the recording, instrumentation, songwriting, and performance deserves a wider audience. Featuring Baritone sax and banjo, add electric guitar, and "small drums" = the sonic landscape. Why haven't we heard this combination before? It REALLY works. And here's the good news....it is not my favorite Kieran Kane project. Check out his past releases and find your own favorite. They will not dissappoint. For now--if you too are bored with the music that is being pushed by the music industry. For me this is the antidote."
