Keri Noble -- The Earlier, the Better
St4rGuitar | 04/27/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I had the thrill of seeing Keri in concert back when she used to play at the "Grand Cafe" in downtown Farmington, Michigan. She played mostly just piano with her voice floating on top of it. This album illustrates her earlier style -- intimate setting, mostly just piano with her beautiful voice literally singing a "lullaby" over the music.

The CD begins with "Have You Seen Me Lately?" and finishes with "Four Candles." She is a lot more spiritually-based on this CD than her newer one. She refers to her "Father" and basically just life experiences. She talks about seeing her friends go through rough times and feeling helpless, her family, feeling lost, and being strong through it all. The lyrics are deep and passionate; the music is intense in some parts and soothing in others.

The title track, "Lullaby" really does what it says -- it sings you to sleep. The lyrics include, "Heavy eyes, go to sleep, I'll pray your soul he'll keep. Dream of oceans and a white sand beach; when you wake up love here I'll be..." The song is so relaxing and guarenteed to relieve a stressful day.

Unfortunately for those waiting to purchase the CD, I'm not willing to part with it because Keri signed the cover for me way back when it first came out.

Bottom Line: If you want to hear Keri doing deeper, more passionate, and more piano-based music, you need to find a copy of this CD!"
