The musicians were Roy Eldridge, Kenny Dorham, Curtis Fuller, Coleman Hawkins, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, Herbie Mann, Tommy Flanagan, Ronnie Ball, Ben Tucker, Ahmed-Abdul Malik, Jo Jones, Dave Dailey, Ray Mantilla and singer Chris Connor. Almost all these musicians discovered bossa nova and on their return they recorded albums in that vein. But these 1961 recordings laid the groundwork for those groundbreaking releases.
