If you can only buy one.....

"classical saxophone CD this year; make it this one. The tradition of exemplary performance and entertainment established by the artists (Kenneth Fischer and Richard Zimdar) are well illustrated in this outstanding collection of music from the modern era. From the hauntingly lyrical themes of Bernard Heiden's "Diversion" to the virtuosic demands of Bassett's "Duo Concertante", all that could be saxophone performance is enclosed on this CD. The bonus of hearing both alto and soprano saxophone played with equal aplomb and beauty is well worth the price of admission. Kenneth Fischer, artist and master teacher, has given the world a brief glance into what his students and fans have known for years; Fischer has few peers in the intepretation of classical saxophone literature. Fewer still bring the skills necessary in such a palatable medium. The playing is world-class throughout, and the choice and order of music creates a gem from start to finish. I listen to this recording almost weekly from the time I had the artists autograph my copy, and I remain impressed and in awe. Artistry of this level sets the standard for the rest of us. And what a standard it is; but don't take my word for it. Buy the recording, and see for yourself!"
I Thought Saxophonists Only Played Jazz!

"I thought saxophonists only played jazz, but i was wrong! This CD was given to me by a friend who thought I might like an education in the art of saxophone playing. What a beautiful recording; the sound of the saxophone is so elegant and lyrical! I especially like the piece with Saxophone and Tape - such an intriguing combination of sounds! I can't wait to buy others like this one!"
