"upon listening to ken serio's "through the gate", being and aspiring drummer myself, i found it quite refreshing to hear a drummer's solo album to be down to earth, in the pocket playing. most other solo albums i've heard are exactly that. great musicians playing with a drummer who takes the spotlight too often and spoils the performance of the rest of the band. but ken lets the musicians he's surrounded himself with display thier talent as well. ken sits back and grooves most of the time but knows when and how much flair to add. he plays with the musicians, and they play with him in return while creating a unique space for every one to perform in. ken is a musician's drummer, and a drummer's drummer in one package. his talent is not easy to come by."
