"Flatspin came out in Japan last summer (2000). This CD includes 13 trax. The first one "ICEBLINK" is a real hit, typical techno beat with phat electronic sounds, and I guess you can find it in single format. The 13th track of the Cd is a vocal remix of it, featuring INNER CITY. "GAP ACCELERATOR" is a breakbeat rhythm with an hypnotic synthesizer (sounds like a Trance goa sound) paste on it. I like "MOONQUAKE" a lot, it's a good techno/house track for clubs. I am sure some remix by talented techno artists will be available soon. 2 slow songs "MIRAGE" and "FROZEN REMINISCENCE" both easy listening and very relaxing, with a soft piano, warm strings and pad sounds...probably good for a movie BGM... sounds little bit like Ryuichi Sakamoto... Anyway, FLATSPIN is a very nice album, less experimental and more mature than his previous ones...Ken Ishii's last album is probably one of his best, though more commercial..."
