"Keith Hampton is originally from Wisconsin and was based in Boston when this 2002 CD came out. Hampton's got a soft melodic delivery backed mostly by acoustic guitar. "I'll never let you go; I'll never let you down," he sings on the opener "Love Comes Around." Hampton has an unusual warble in his voice that sounds like he's channeling a singer from 60 years ago into a folk music format from 40 years ago. As a songwriter, his material is endearing. "Shining Through" is a lovely track with Abbie Gardner doing tender vocal harmonies, "If you can feel the calm before the storm; If you can feel the passion once it's gone; If you don't quit the game each time you lose, Oh believe me, that's when you'll see me shining through." The set closes with another strong track "Bernadine." On tracks like "My Hometown" & "Silver & Gold," the vocal warble makes me not want to listen. Generally, I enjoy this soft soothing style of music. Keith has some strong tracks here and deserves a listen from those who want to support independent artists. Enjoy!"
