CD Reviews

EXCELLENT CAPITOL COLLECTION FROM SONGBIRD KEELY!
A. POLLOCK | PLYMOUTH, DEVON United Kingdom | 09/15/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Featuring three complete Capitol albums (POLITELY, SWINGIN' PRETTY and I WISH YOU LOVE), this excellent UK collection adds ten songs recorded with one-time hubby Louis Prima as well as another five solo sides - some "live" - emanating from the same source and including GOOD BEHAVIOUR and A FOGGY DAY, with Sam Butera and the Witnesses entering the fray for I GOTTA RIGHT TO SING THE BLUES. Such a comprehensive two-disc collection of fifty songs speaks for itself, especially as supreme vocalist, Keely, is shown off to spectacular effect on the triple-treat albums which have impeccable arrangements by Nelson Riddle and Billy May and must surely rank as the high point of her long recording career."
