The opening cut is worth the cost of the CD

"Sweet and simple is the best way to describe this album of live recordings by Kate. It is difficult to find a true favorite cut on Carry It On. Although she is gone, Kate's music will carry on well into the next millennium. A dozen songs by Paul Siebel, Joni Mitchell, Gil Turner, Willis Ramsey, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, and Kate are contained within. Playing with Kate on several cuts is Nina Gerber, Rick Byars, and Eddie Barlow. Kate does a wonderful interpretation on the opening cut (Then Came the Children) with some haunting harmonica background provided by Nina Gerber. You will want to listen to each song several times before trying to decide on a favorite. If you don't own any albums by Kate, this album will be a real treat for you. If, like me, you have several of Kate's albums, consider this a must have album. You will be glad you did."
