CD ReviewsAn album worth buying... Anthony Tyler | Nashville | 03/08/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "Karine Hannah's "I'll Be Alright" is an album worth listening to. It's obvious Karine can sing. Her voice is not typical by any means (my first attraction to her sound while visiting MySpace) and yet her range is outstanding. Don't try to compartmentalize her voice. It's truly unique and frankly, it's nice to hear a powerful, at times smokey voice in a world of over-produced pap. "Come Home" is the song that lingers in my brain. It's darker tones are simply real and deeply felt. While "Drink" took me completely by surprise with its anthem-like feel and quite honestly, its topic. The fact that "Drink" is the second track is also took me aback, but why on Earth this song isn't a standard on radio is beyond me..."Gonna Love" is out of the blue as well. Middle-Eastern undercurrents propel this song to places you'd never dream of while listening to it and then...and then it kicks you in the jaw (yet another sublime discovery regarding this album: it's a rocker at its core!). Overall, from writing, performances and production, "I'll Be Alright" is a great addition to anyone's collection. I urge you to pick this one up! " Ultimate Undiscovered Album! Jack Franks | New York, NY | 09/14/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is possibly the best undiscovered album that I've found in quite a while. I did a little research and this Canadian artist has worked with some cool people and this album is apparently a tribute to Sezen Aksu's {a Turkish Pop Legend] music.
The standout songs are "Drink", "Dance" and "I'll Be Alright". It's definitely an album that will find it's way to popular culture soon, perhaps Europe with find it first..." |
