Synopsis

Album Description

Give Me Sanity is a collection of songs written by this Malaccan- Portuguese-Malaysian songbird and her harp-playing American husband. In a melodic sense, it's musical news for the 21st century, combining sounds from instruments as diverse as the Indonesian seruling flute and Western double bass, the African djembe and acoustic slide guitar. Thematically, the lyrics carry forward those universal concerns from all previous epochs, from questions of identity and jealousy in a relationship, to the pain of loss, fear of calamity, and the wonder of being able to love.
