The young South Carolina native's debut release is a two sided affair with side one (Heatstroke) showcasing a modern hybrid of blues, hip-hop, gospel and soul and side two (The Wind and the War) comprising a collection of haunting indie folk. The resulting album was produced and engineered by Eric Corne at Elliott Smith's New Monkey Studio. Chosen as the first artist of 2013 for NPR's World Cafe: Next Series, KaiL is undoubtedly an artist to watch in the years to come.
