GREATEST EMCEE OF ALL TIME?!?!
Kurupt | chicago | 02/19/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I have to go ahead and agree with Nas' opinion that Kris is the greatest emcee of all time. I was a little concerned when I saw this release has so many tracks. Usually when there over 12 tracks there is a lot of filler or weak tracks. Not the case with this album. I pretty much love this release from beginning to end with the exception of the strange hook on Gro---oh and i don't like the last track WACHANOABOUT at all. The message for the song is dope but the rock track ruins it for me. This album gives you knowledge, dope styles/rhymes, as well as appearances from chuck D and MC Lyte. I was hoping Nas was going to rip a track with Kris but just got an intro from him. This album is very consistent with Kris' releases and is definitely an asset to any collection.

Go to tracks for me are:

"Kris brought it to 'em! When I first saw this advertised I went, 'Ok another KRS album. Boy did my excitement escalate several notches after I first rocked it! This is a very good release! Busta made mention how artist both old and new school have to find a balance with dope rhymes and bust your lips beats. Hey Busta, KRS answered the call! 'I got cha' is on some of that mad crew science. 'Money' with MC Lyte slams indeed and makes me thirsty for a release from her before it is too late. But that last verse on the 'The Teacha Returns' oooooooooooh! Don't none of these goofy laffy taffy, bounce happy rappers today want any of Kris! He will slay them! All in all, DO NOT SLEEP AND COP THIS. I liked 'Hip Hop Lives' but this release should have had that title!"
The Teacha RETURNS!

"KRS-One has done it again in this soulja boy 2008 era of hip-hop! He continues to ignore what's out and popular and re-establishes his own name brand of hip-hop! There's 20 tracks on this album with intro appearances by Chuck D..MC Lyte(who does the chorus on the track "Money") and Nas who I wish would have spit his bars right along side the one he calls the Greatest To Ever Do It..and he also mentions that he's from Queensbridge saying that! It just goes to show that "The Teacha" is so dope he has respect from any area even those that he has attacked in the past! Some of the standout tracks are: Today's Topics....Money....The Teacha Returns.....What's Your Plan.....It's All Love....and I Got You...but most of the tracks are good with the exception of about 3 filler tracks which is why I gave it 4 stars! I actually do like this release better than Hip-Hop Lives with Marley Marl which was also a decent effort from Kris! If your a KRS fan from the beginning like myself or your just getting your introduction you should add this to your music collection either way and let's celebrate The Return of the TEACHA!"
