CD Reviews

"Going way, way back to the early days"!
"Old Skool" Ran-Dee | "Da' Bronx" | 08/26/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The original "Hip-Hop Gangsta' Just-Ice" is one of the illest and most innovating MC's in our time. This album is so rugged and so ill! Hard-core Hip-Hop at it's finest! Production is done by KRS ONE (and not Mantronik) on this album. The sound quality in this CD edtion is incredible and it has a track not featured on the original pressing (FREEDOM OF SPEECH '88 {12" single edit.}.) This was one of the best albums released back in '87 and one of the best rap albums ever made! A true Hip-Hop classic!"
Just Ice is Da Troof!!!

"I remember when Ifirst bought this tape. It was a bootleg back in 88 at the Sweet Auburn Festival in Atlanta. I had no idea who in the world Just Ice was. After I listened to it, I was probably one of the biggest Just Ice fans on earth. This is raw Hiphop in its purest essence. You can have your 50 Cents, your Lil Kims and your Ying Yang Twins. Give me that REAL Hiphop anyday."

"One of the things I appreciated about Just Ice is that he was a street cat that CLEARLY didnt want you to end up where he had been. He never glorified anything and he truly was "for the kids". I will never forget the first time I saw him on Rap City on BET (Yo MTV what?). He was talented raw and more love for Hip-Hop than he did for his ego."
