CD Reviews

Great single, but start with Beyond the Infinite
Stephen Hero | live at leeds | 02/07/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Samurai is one of Juno's most complex tracks, off of their second (and superior) album Beyond the Infinite. That's where everyone should start with Juno Reactor; however, once you've tasted that and Bible of Dreams, don't hesitate to check out the Samurai EP. The mixes are very catchy (though the Eclipse mix of Samurai pales in comparison with the real deal) and Labyrinth, the real gem here, is a slow, pulsing song that ranks as one of the Reactor's best. These guys play techno and trance that defies classification. The songs contain so many movements and layers that it feels like electronica classical style. In conclusion: the Samurai EP is better than almost all the other techno on the market today, but not quite as good as the full Juno albums. However, 35 minutes of great music is definitely worth the 7 bucks."
A great single with an excellent remix
Eric Johnson | 07/04/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This EP is of Samurai, arguably Juno Reactor's best track. The remix of track 2 takes the orginal and kicks it up a notch with a serious remix that is bursting with energy and aura bliss. The other tracks are excellent as well. If you just want to test out Juno Reactor's sound, try out this EP and then get Beyond the Infinite. The reason that I like Juno Reactor so much is that they don't fall into the generic "blocks of 4" techno. Their sound is original and full of surprises."
