Cool Coverage

"Jump5 is leaving Sparrow Records Company so they released one more Jump5 album before the group went on to other things. The topic for this compilation album is coverage of popular songs already done. I think it was a real neat idea to put all those songs on to one disk so you don't have to go out and find all the different albums, soundtracks etc. that Jump5's cover songs are on. I particulaly like the song "freeze frame". This is proabaly the least known Jump5 song because it's only found on the soundtrack of a non-disney movie (Sleepover). It's one of my favorites. The album opens with the ever-popular and high-energy fun of "We Are Family". I appreciated that they acknowleged the Christian coverage as well with the song "Friends" by Michael W. Smith. This album is great if you are a Jump5 fan, a rememberer of these songs, or just looking for fun danceable music. The only thing is that Jump5 didn't acknowledge the less popular songs that they covered such as "Do Ya", "Way of the World", "Angel in My Heart" and "Throw Your Hands Up." Those are covered songs too. I've heard people say that Jump5 shouldn't have put "Wonderful Christmastime" on the end of the album but I think it works. Of course Jump5's other Christmas songs are already done ones but "Wonderful Christmastime" is an "oldies" Christmas song, not just a traditional one. Anyway, all in all it's a good, clean, and fun album. I recommend it."
Remakes To The Max And Holiday Fun!!!!!( A Review On SS and
Jump5 Fan | USA | 11/22/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I have been a huge fan of Jump5 since 2003.And I always loved how they took older songs and gave them a new taste.I feel "Shining Star" is another collection of Jump5`s greatest hits like "The Very Best Of Jump5" was."Shining Star" has all the remakes Jump5 have done over the years, including some of my personal favorites. It features very rare songs that aren`t featured on any Jump5 album like "Hawainn Roller Coaster Ride" and the fast paced "Freeze Frame".It also features songs that have been on Jump5 albums before.Sparrow left out some covers like "Do Ya","Throw Your Hands Up","Angel In My Heart",and the songs "Every Part Of Me" and "Way Of The World".Those would have made good additions to the collection, but it`s not a huge problem.

The album opens with one of Jump5`s biggest hits called "We Are Family" from their album "Accelerate".This is a great song to dance and have fun to,and is one of Jump5`s best remakes.

The second track is also from their

album "Accelerate",titled "Walking On Sunshine".This is a song that will definately keep you going and on your feet.

The next song is their big Disney hit "Beauty And The Beast".This is possibly my favorite song on the album.Jump5 really ruled it over with a great dance tune!

"Hawainn Roller Coaster Ride" is another Disney hit. Also made into a music video, this song is a great addition to this collection.

"Freeze Frame" was the only Jump5 song to feature few-months member Natasha Noack, who was a member for a while after Libby Hodges dropped out of the group.I think it`s a great remake, and I think I really like Natasha`s voice!

"I`ve Got The Music In Me" was originally from their album "Dreaming In Color",which was realeased in 2004.This is a very rockish song, and congrats to Brittany and Lesley for hitting those high notes!

"Welcome" is a rare, almost forgotten Jump5 song.It was the last song with member Libby Hodges.I think it`s a totally great song, and was once sang in a parade!

"God Bless The U.S.A." slows down the album with some slow, peaceful music. It was originally from their first self-titled album "Jump5",and was also made into a music video.A wonderful song to cool you down and get you prepared for the next song!

"Celebration" is a total dance tune and was orgignally featured on Jump5`s 2004 remix album "Mix It Up".It`s one of my favorites.

"Shining Star",being the title track,is another song from their album "Accelerate".It`s got a funky, jazzy pop sound, and Chris sounds absolutely wonderful with his parts in it!

"Friends" is one of Jump5`s most recent remade songs, featured on their "Very Best Of" cd.It is a cool remake of Michael W Smith`s never forgotten classic.

"A Wonderful Christmastime" is a Christmas closing to the album. It is a great song from Jump5`s first Christmas album "All The Joy In The World" which realesed back in 2002.

Now,here is a review on Jump5`s newest Christmas album "Rock This Christmas".

1.Rock This Christmas(10/10)-The Second Best Song On The Cd!It`s a great opening track, with a kinda rock and pop mix-in!

2.If The Snow Doesn`t Fall(9/10)-Great!A Little Less Exciting And Dancy Then "Rock This Christmas",but it`s still a great song that they all did really good writing on!

3.Christmas Like This(10/10)-Rockin Christmas Song!Chris sings most of it about having Christmas at the beach! It`s VERY rockish, and I REALLY like that!I actually Think I Might Like Christmas Dancin To The Band!

4.Merry Merry Christmas(10/10)-This is a beautiful song just saying what most people say to one another around Christmas....Merry Merry Christmas!I love how Lesley sings it!I think she has an amazing voice!

5.Silent Night(10/10)-The Perfect Version Of This Holiday Classic! They all sound good singing it together, and congrats to Brittany for hitting some good vocals!

6.This Christmas Day(9/10)-I really think this one came from Jump5`s hearts, cause it`s talking about how they "Packed Up Their Lives To Follow Their Dreams" and that there are many Christmases that they "Won`t Get To See" cause they`ll be on the road!A very well-written track!

7.Hark The Harold Angels Sing(10/10)-Cool!This is probably the best remake on this album!I love how they turned it in to a dancy, rockish song!Starts of slow, then blasts out with some guitars and drums!

8.He Is Born(10/10)-THE best song on the album talking about the true meaning of Christmas!Brandon brings out this song the most, but the rest of the group sounds absolutely wonderful too!It would be awesome for them to make a video of this song!

9.We Wish You A Merry Christmas(8/10)-Not my favorite, but is a good song to listen to occasionally!Being one of the last songs on the album,it`s a good 3rd to last song!

10.Amazing Grace(10/10)-Jump5 goes acapella! This sounds amazing, and Brittany once again hits some awesome vocals!A big stand out for the band!

11.............(Silent Track,Nothing On It,Skip To Track 12!)

12.Nothing Like You(Bonus Non-Christmas Song)(10/10)-Rock on!This is a high flying song to end the album,and is also very well-written!

Well, there`s my review on "Rock This Christmas"!You`ll DEFINATELY want to add it to your Jump5 collection!

Ps-It`s not sold in stores,so you either have to order it from the website www.jump5fanclub.com or buy it at any Jump5 concert!

"Since Shining Star and Rock this Christmas were released on the same day (except that Rock this Christmas is not sold in stores, thus not being on amazon, but sold online at the fan club and shipped) this is a review to honor Rock This Christmas at the Shining Star area. Now..

THIS IS J5'S BEST CHRISTMAS CD!! It's a little slower than the previous, but I don't care! THIS IS THE FIRST ONE WHERE THEY'VE WRITTEN ALMOST ALL THE SONGS! (Which finally means some "origianl" Jump5 Christmas songs at last.)

1. Rock This Christmas 10/10 WOW!! They sound really awesome in this. I love how they each sing a small part at the end while Lesley and Brittany blast the chorus in the background! Possibly the best song on here!

2. If The Snow Doesn't Fall 10/10 Nice slow beat, but really meaningful. I saw them preform this and it was showing pictures of soldiers celebrating Christmas over in Iraq without their families. Sad!

3. Christmas Like This 10/10 BRING IN THE ELECTRIC GUTAIRS!!! This is a funky song about having Christmas at the beach! I love the lyrics! A keeper!

4. Merry Merry Christmas 10/10 Nice jingly Christmasy feeling on it! Great slow song. Nice addition!

5. Silent Night 10/10 A classic Christmas song! Jump5 did a perfect slow job with this! I love it!

6. This Christmas Day 10/10 wow. wow. wow. and wow. This is pulled off brilliantly! It's really sad! It'll make you not take everything like family and home for granted!

7. Hark The Harold Angels Sing 10/10 Awesome remake! I love How Brittany and Chris pull some of the parts off! Perfect!

8. He Is Born 10/10 An upbeat pop/rock song about emabracing the true meaning of Christmas---JESUS!

9. We Wish You A Merry Christmas 10/10 Things slow wayyyy down, but the still keep that holiday jingle fresh and going!

10. Amazing Grace 10/10 Awesome song! This is all acapella, no music, just J5 singing!

11. ------- 0/0 Skip this and get to the bonus track!

12. Nothing Like You 10/10 HIDDEN WONDER! This is tied with Rock This Christmas as the best song! It's really boppy and dancy! A great finisher!

That's my review! Shining Star is awesome, but for people who want to buy Rock This Christmas, go to jump5.com, click Fan Club, click Store, click Audio, and then buy Rock This Christmas!!
