Synopsis

Product Description
It s safe to say that Judy and the movies are inextricably linked; she invariably appears on any list of the twentieth century s top film stars. But such preeminence was recognized even during her lifetime having been called, 'the most important thing to happen to the M-G-M musical.'

In this package, Garland once again demonstrates her movie music supremacy with both her own songs and a wide variety of others. It s happy proof that her place in the pantheon of film history is secure, and like the best motion picture songs she remains irreplaceable, unforgettable ...and eminently listenable.

Features a 70th Anniversary Celebration of The Wizard of Of in song with 'Scarecrow' Ray Bolger!

"I know I keep getting some songs over again, but it is Judy Garland and I'm so glad this particular one was released with some tracks new on CD. And it does tip the hat to the 70th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz."

"Another great CD featuring the songs that Judy did so expertly during her 1963-1964 TV series. The more you watch and listen to her at this point in her career, the more of a shame it is that she was unable to do another year or two...the heights she could have reached. This is definitely a mature singer at her peak. The CD has a number of previously unreleased selections - my favorite being "More" which Judy thought a ludicrous song, but which she slayed when she sang it. If you watch her performance on DVD, you can almost see her laugh at the lyric. The only complaint about the CD is that the overall volume seems to be less than other CDs I have and so I have to crank it up when the CD is on - making it hard to use as a "shuffle" selection - otherwise, she's great and the selections here prove it."
