Album Description

"Sweet Harmony" is a follow-up to Josephine's critically-acclaimed debut CD "Feels So Good." Although Josephine's 2003 disc deserved every accolade it received -- and it received a lot! -- this new CD, "Sweet Harmony," displays the 17-year-old singer's growth and maturity. Wow! On this disc, Josephine is teamed with some of Philly's premier Jazz musicians, including Rich Waller (drums), Lee Patterson (bass), Will Brok (Fender Rhodes), TNT (piano),and Rick Take Jr. on sax -- what a line-up! This pairing immediately shows that they are taking no prisoners from the opening title track "Sweet Harmony" on which Josephine sings only ONE lyric, and 8-layers of alternate vocalizing to provide a truly pleasing groove. And it only gets better from there. If you slept on Josephine's debut CD or her 2003 E.P. "Jane," don't sleep on this one. It's equally wonderful!

"I bought this -- Josephine Sincere's 2nd CD "Sweet Harmony," based on the strength of her first CD. This CD is what a R&B CD should be -- staying true to the essence of genuine rhythm & blues music with heartfelt singing, meaningful lyrics and beautiful music by REAL musicians.

Although there is no "Jane" on this CD (afterall, "Jane" is a classic), there are plenty of great songs to go around: "I Like It", "You" (Whew! what a performance!), and "Still Feels Good" stand out. But Josephine's re-make of the 1977 Evelyn Champagne King classic "Shame" is worth buying the CD for by itself. It's a slowed-down version that's simply outstanding.

This YOUNG lady has earned herself a big fan!"

"All I have to say is that when I heard the line "I like the way you say it with your chick, so put your lips on hers and tell me it again" -- I didn't quite know what to make of it...what is she saying?. All I knew was that it FLOORED ME! But after I realized that Josephine is doing a duet with the SAX PLAYER, I understood it, and though this was the coolest line in any song I've heard since her 2003 song "Jane."

A dope lyric and concept like THAT should be enough to tell you what you need to know about this album -- it's one of the best new albums I've heard this year."
