Synopsis

Album Description
Close Your Eyes, a carefully chosen set of lullabies, is Josephine Cameron's third and most ambitious album to date. Combining traditional songs such as "Lavender's Blue" and "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" with original songs and modern influences, she creates a dreamy, delicate sense of calm. Cameron's lyrical voice and style has been compared to Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, and The Bangles' Susanna Hoffs. This is a great album to wind down with at the end of the day.

Wonderful Voice

"Josephine has an amazing voice. Calming and pure. You won't be disappointed in this CD!"
Another Excellent Folksy, Soothing, Soulful Album

"In recent years, I've found myself listening to music that raises my heart rate. I like alterna-pop or rock in the car to keep me awake, and cheese-ball dance/techno at the gym. But an excellent album like takes me back to a time when music was more about my relaxation, a little escape, to unwind the nerves and lower blood pressure, like a purring cat in your lap.

Josephine Cameron is an impressive singer songwriter with a unique, powerful yet sweet voice that fills a room at full volume and at a whisper. This particular CD is a mix of originals and covers, but the strongest is her original song, "Holding." She does an impressive job making the covers sound like she herself wrote them, like in "Summertime" or "Bow Down Low."

If you're looking for a way to ease that stress, to close your eyes and appreciate music, I strongly recommend this CD. I also suggest that you check out "Every Night When the Sun Goes In," which contains the amazing tracks "Long Night" and "Indiana."

I suppose you would like me to compare her to other famous artists? With the amount of soul and personal touch in each song, she reminds me of Norah Jones; the folksy side is a bit like Jewel or Ani DiFranco (on slower songs, like "Falling Is Like This," "Grey," or "Overlap.") But really, Josephine Cameron is an original, and anyone who loves music should check out her CDs."
True Talent - Soothing Voice

"Many people can sound good when accompanied by a chorus of instruments - but Josephine puts her raw voice out ast he main (and almost sole) instrument in her music. She's one of those beatuiful treasures akin to Eva Cassidy. Once you hear her music you'll wonder why it isn't the truely talented artists like her who are brought out into the spotlight.

My wedding song was "I Could Not Ask For More." I stumbled upon her music when searching for that song. Her version of that soulful song is simply amazing. Although I also still love Edwin McCain's version for the swell of emotion built in to the depth of his music, there are times when you just want the plain, simple, raw beauty of the words and no one could express those more beautifully than her.

If you like music that shows the beauty of a voice then you'll appreciate her style."
