Luurs | Oak Park, IL USA | 06/24/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "Not all that long ago, it was difficult to find performances of the Haydn sonatas, let alone good performances. These are superb performances. Ragna Schirmer is a two time winner of the Johann Sebashtian Bach competition and brings a great deal of style and wit to her performances of Haydn. This is the second volume of Haydn for Berlin Classics. I don't know that there will be a complete set - but I would love it if that were true.
A Hamburg Steinway is used for the performances and the recording sound is excellent." |
