Synopsis

Product Description
My Provincetown is a collection of 10 of Jordan E. Spivack's instrumental compositions, performed, arranged and produced by Mr. Spivack. Each piece presents a musical mood painting of the composer's vivid memories of his many visits to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. In Mr. Spivack's own words: Provincetown, a small village on the tip of Cape Cod, off the coast of Massachusetts, is one of my favorite places on earth. During many summer vacations in P-Town, I have come to love the natural beauty of the beaches, dunes, and surrounding bodies of water. The busy downtown district, bursting with terrific little shops and restaurants, the myriad art galleries, and throngs of bustling people of all types, is a site to behold. And above it all is the towering Pilgrim s Monument, representing the historical significance of the area. This suite represents my musical impressions of a vacation paradise. If you ve ever been to P-Town, I hope it brings back lovely memories. If you haven t yet visited P-Town, I hope it makes you want to go there as soon as possible.,Jordan Elliot Spivack is a prize-winning composer/lyricist who lives in Nanuet (Rockland County), NY, where he is a full time private piano, theory and composition teacher and the music coordinator and accompanist at Rockland Learning Center/Montessori School. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Jordan started piano lessons at 5 years old after his parents discovered that he had the gift of music composition. At 10 years old he studied piano, harpsichord and music theory at Cornell University. He was a member of the rock band The Creation while in high school in Cortland, NY. After receiving a BM degree in composition from Ithaca College, he went on to receive his MM in composition, theory and piano from Indiana University. Since then he has written over 500 pop songs, numerous classical and jazz compositions, 2 musicals for children, the opera A Better Way, with libretto by Joseph P. Lanzone, and is the composer/lyricist of The Red Ribbon Theme Song, Hands Across The Universe, which has been learned and performed by over 15,000 students K 12 in New York State in the past 11 years.
