Synopsis

Album Description

The World got it's first taste of Jools Holland's musical abilities when, at age 15, he co-founded Squeeze with Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook. Then he helped create the modern swing craze when Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra released The Full Compliment album in 1991. Valley Entertainment is proud to present a compilation of his UK swing albums simply titled The Swing Album. The songs on this CD come from the U.K. releases: The Full Compliment, Live Performance, Sex & Jazz & Rock & Roll, and Lift The Lid. When the 18-piece band is not touring, they can be found backing Holland and his guests on the Later... with Jools Holland TV show on BBC America. Jools was also seen in the U.S. in the early '90's as the co-host of NBC's Night Music program along with David Sanborn.

"This is a great, fun album the title can be deciving, the music has a great big band sound but only a few tracks could be called swing. the musical genres range from jazz, rock and ska. A great party album. Brian setzer should buy this album to see how is should be done."

"The best thing Jools has got going for himself is the singer SAM BROWN who sings on all his albums. Sam Browm has not been heard of in a long time till she dueted with the brilliant FISH on the hit single called JUST GOOD FRIENDS from his album YIN. While she could of capitalised on this publicity she instead decided to hang in the shadow of Jools Holland. This is a great shame as she has a magnificent voice. Perhaps she'll get back with FISH after he finishes promoting RAINGODS WITH ZIPPOS, we'll see."
