CD Reviews

Mr. Serrie has done it again--awesome music!!

"Again, Jonn Serrie has contributed a CD containing glorious music for your listening pleasure. His first holiday CD, "Upon A Midnight Clear" (which I highly recommend), contains the most dreamy, inspiring and beautiful music I've ever heard. Several of the tracks on "Yuletides" are much more upbeat, with a faster tempo to get you into a happy and festive mood. You can start with "Bring A Torch Jeanette Isabella"--AWESOME! Then, "A Soulin'" will really get your toes tapping. To move onto something richer, deeper and more contemplative, listen to "Pachelbel's Canon." When you are ready to be transported to a higher dimension, I recommend that you go to a quiet place, put on your headphones, close your eyes and listen to "O Come All Ye Faithful"--this is so unbelievably beautiful and glorious it brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. Then, there's "Once In Royal David's City" which is sublime. "Silent Night" is very moving and emotional as performed by Mr. Serrie; I guarantee that it has never been more beautiful and rich as expressed on this CD. To close the session, you will listen to "Christmas Prayers"--not spoken prayers, but rather three musical pieces. By the time I finish listening to it, I feel like I've been born again--literally, in every way! In my view, Jonn Serrie is a musical genius and we are so blessed to be given the treasures of his music. Long may he live and be blessed by all! His music has helped me in many ways; for example, after listening to either of his holiday CDs, I don't feel depressed or upset, rather I'm relaxed yet joyous and uplifted to a higher realm. His music is very, very powerful. In fact, I don't recommend you listen to it while driving, at least his first one. I was "DUI" on my way home as I listened to this one--Driving Under the Influence--of Jonn Serrie's music!! Really, it's best to lie down, close your eyes and just be still as this magical music carries you on a journey to a realm of wonder and unimaginable beauty. Jonn Serrie, thank you for sharing your genius and divine gift with us and may God bless you and yours always! Again, I highly recommend that you also purchase Jonn's first holiday CD, "Upon A Midnight Clear," available at Amazon. Have an inspired holiday season...Peace!"
Another nice change

"Following up four years later on his first Christmas release Upon A Midnight Clear, Jonn Serrie again brings magic to traditional Christmas worship music. Somewhat more upbeat overall than "Clear" this is similar to that CD in that it does offer an untraditional approach to standard traditional worship music. And again, just like "Clear" this offers not only a change from the typical commercial and too often shallow holiday music we are bombarded with each season, this can offer a deep listening and spiritually uplifting experience to anyone who needs some relief from holiday stress or to someone who just wants to take some quiet moments and reflect. The simple yet beautiful version of Silent Night alone makes this CD worthwhile. I obviously would highly recommend both this and his Upon A Midnight Clear release."
