"As this is the only available recording of White Horse Inn, I was really looking forward to finally hearing this operetta that played for years and years in the 20s and 30s. It's easy to see why it's never revived. It's a mess. Some of the worst music and the most juvenile lyrics I've ever heard. "When a pretty milk maid is watching her cows?" Dreadful-I had a hard time even sitting through this once. Awful 60's arrangements. The sound and stereo for 1961 is not good. The accompanying operettas, Wild Violets and No, No, Nanette are much better and have much better performances and sound. Get this for those items, not White Horse Inn."
