We at Bear Family can honestly say that we've done more than anyone to keep the sound of the great original country duets alive. The Blue Sky Boys, the Monroe Brothers, Darby & Tarlton, Sara & Maybelle Carter, the Louvin Brothers, and even the Everly Brothers have all received the Bear Family treatment. One of the greatest duet acts of all was Johnnie & Jack, and in a 1992 box, we collected absolutely every recording by Johnnie & Jack. The 6 CDs included all their Apollo, King, RCA, and Decca recordings made between their first session in 1947 and Jack's death in 1963. Johnnie Wright gives a session-by-session account of his career...his memory is incredible, and it amounts to a fifteen year history of country music. Also included are sensational photos from Johnnie Wright's personal photo library and fanatically detailed notes from Grand Ole Opry host Eddie Stubbs.

"This is an awesome 6-CD collection of classic, sweet country music from one of the greatest duet acts of the 1940s and '50s, back when there was still a strong hillbilly influence in the style. Jack Anglin and Johnnie Wright were parters for much of the 1940s and '50s, and recorded a lot of great material, including dozens of gospel tunes, which are also included here, along with the heart songs and novelty material. This box set is highly, highly recommended. In case a 6-CD set is a bit too much for you (although in this case, it might be worth it...!) Bear Family also has a great single-CD best-of that also captures their joyful, boisterous energy. Great stuff! (DJ Joe Sixpack, Slipcue Country Music Guide)"
