Synopsis

Product Description
This powerful CD is a circular musical journey into the process by which we heal ourselves, our relationships, our communities, or nations and our world. We enter into the healing journey as the music begins. As we connect to the affirming balm of the sacred medicine resting deep in the heart of the music, our mending unfolds in the quiet stillness and ystery of our soul. We reach the end, we are healed, and we begin anew. For all who have ever suffered, this music is for you. Take the journey back to yourself....

John Two-Hawks is a GRAMMY and Emmy nominated, Platinum Award winning musician whose music has been featured by Fox Searchlight, HBO, The History Channel, National Public Radio, NativeRadio.com, American Indian Radio on Satellite, Gathering of Nations Radio, and countless other worldwide media outlets. His numerous best-selling CDs, prestigious awards and ground-breaking achievements have earned him a distinguished reputation as one of the world's premier Native American musicians. Two-Hawks is a bona fide music visionary and pioneer who was among the first to introduce the Indigenous Flute to the world decades ago. From the beginning, he demanded the highest standards of excellence. As a result, John Two-Hawks has taken his signature brand of Native Flute music into places it has never been, brought it to millions who had never heard it before, and elevated it to a place of equal billing and respect in the world of music.

Two-Hawks is most known for his effortless virtuosity with the Native American Flute, and yet the Native Flute is only one among a myriad of musical instruments John Two-Hawks plays and includes in his signature brand of music. Some of the instruments JTH employs in his music are: beautiful vocals, guitars, keys-synth-pianos, percussion-drums-rattles, mandolins, dulcimers, and the Finnish kantele, just for starters! The tasteful musical mosaic of all these instruments masterfully weaved together in harmonious compositional arrangements is part of what has contributed to the worldwide popularity of Two-Hawks' music.

Even with the enormous amount of success he has experienced, John Two-Hawks remains true to his Lakota ethnic and cultural heritage, and has always continued to be fiercely committed to Indigenous human and civil rights and social justice. He is a kind, gentle and humble soul, as well as a brilliant musician, composer and performer, and this all comes through in his emotionally stirring and evocative, one-of-a-kind music.

Best Native American music I've ever heard
Dan Cole | Kansas City, MO | 09/27/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"To anyone who may be interested, this Heal CD by John Two-Hawks is by far the best Native American music I have ever heard. I own a massive collection of Native music, most of which I have only played a few times. But this Heal CD goes with me everywhere, I listen to it constantly, it is just that good. I had heard that John Two-Hawks was considered one of the top Native flutists in the world. When I heard his Heal CD, I was convinced that he may be the best Native flutist I have ever heard - period. But the Heal CD is more than John Two-Hawks on the flute! It is also John Two-Hawks on: Synthesizer, Guitars, Mandolin, Dulcimer, and all kinds of Indian drums and rattles. And to top it all off, the guy has an awesome singing voice! But with all that music going on, his haunting flutes are always at the front, leading the way, and the other instruments blend beautifully as background to his flutes. It is hard to believe, when listening to this Heal CD, that one man composed, created, and played all that incredible music. Simply amazing. I HIGHLY recommend the Heal CD to anyone who is looking for really great Native American music!"
