"Ladies and gentleman, we are now floating in space thanks, agian, to record maven Andy Votel. Andy makes it his advocation to cross Europe, looking for obscure, wierdo little projects to reissue on his label.

He has found a doozie in Six Moons Of Jupiter. It is not really jazz and not really space rock. But it is really jazz and it is really space rock.

This set feautures a jazz talent no less than Gary Mulligan, who I have to confess I know all too little about. Here, he uses a cello to create a spacey atmosphere. All kinds of instruments-well, there is no other word, float atop, creating a jazz space symphony.

Trust me when I tell you this is done 1960s style: this is not some overbaked 1970s Star Wars cash in. It is actually quite amazing how this much atmostphere is created using so few instuments.

Great novel little project."
