CD Reviews

Piano Tapestry
B. Arena | Sacramento, CA | 11/21/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"An incredibly mystifying arrangement of works by a well rounded artist. John Boswell has such a fluent style ... while others in the genre sometimes sound "canned" or dance along the lines of elevator music, his songs each tell a tale and paint a vivid picture in the mind of the listener. Fitting that he has an album called "The Painter" which I also recommend. Also, if you're looking for good seasonal music, be sure to pick up Festival of the Heart. I hope he comes through with another album someday."
Greatest Hits
S. Schwinn | Saint Paul, MN USA | 05/05/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is just a "Greatest Hits" album, with no new material. If you are a John Boswell fan, who, like me, has every one of his albums, there will be nothing new here. But for those who have not heard John Boswell before, this is a pretty good introduction.

Each of his albums has a "tone" of its own, and unfortunately, this collection is less coherant than each of his other albums in content. This is the only reason I give it 4 stars. I would probably suggest 'The Painter' or 'Trust' to introduce someone to John's work before I'd recommend this."
Serious Music or not, Denying this cd is a mistake
Andy Arango | Edinburg, TX United States | 10/25/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This Cd has been a great inspiration for me. I have heard the Richard Claydermans, Raul Di Blasio, Yanni. All are great but John boswell is right on that line up. I believe too many pianist out there that have recordings are so caught up in technology that they add too many sound effects and you don't even get to hear the true playing. John Boswell really makes his piano playing stand out and it has been a great Delight."
