CD Reviews

Dont miss this guy!

"I am a huge fan of this guy! I started training for a marathon last spring, and I needed new music for the mp3 player. I love soothing new age music, but it had to have a rythim for my long runs. Yanni was my first choice, and he is brilliant. But hold the phone!!!! How do I say this? I am not a musician. Very few
people can start a New Age(I hate that name!)song, take you on a melodic journey, and bring it to a conclusion. Many sort of take one melody and work it to death and leave you in the middle of nowhere. Plus you are sick of it within 2 weeks.
Mr. Adorney writes incredible music! This album is not the best of the 3 Adorney I have, but it has a lot to live up to. I still would buy it again if it were lost. He used more singing in this one, its great but to me his compositions of just music,
make my brain smile. Listen to a few samples, and realize that you will like this guy more on the 50th time you have heard a song than even on the first. And if you are a runner? Wow!"
Another Magical Multicolored Masterpiece!

"I've found that there's something very weird about John Adorney's albums (I have and cherish them all). The first time you listen to the album, you say, "That's quite nice!"; the next time you listen, you say, "That's REALLY lovely!!"; and the third time, you say, with goosebumps, "THAT'S INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!!!"; and it just keeps getting better each time! And his fantastic new album, Waiting for the Moon, is no exception - I've just gone through this same progression of falling into enchantment all over again.I think this magical phenomenon may be due to the wondrous complexity and richness of Adorney's music - so many layers of lovely crystalline melodies and silken harmonies soaring so effortlessly over sensuous exotic rhythms - too much for a common mortal to completely absorb on the first hearing, but each time you hear more! And more!!Waiting for the Moon differs from Adorney's first two albums in two significant ways. First, there are powerful new notes of bittersweet wistfulness, sadness and longing, in contrast to the predominance of unadulterated joy in the earlier albums. Second, the phenomenal voice of Daya is at last given full rein in complete poetic lyrics - this pure, luscious, profoundly expressive voice sings straight from the heart of Adorney's music.[FYI, I have not been paid by Adorney or his producers! I'm just a teacher in Arkansas who wants you to buy this genius's music and keep him in business! He brings great beauty to a world that desperately needs it.]"
Waiting for his next album

"Others here have said it more eloquently than I can, but this music is nice the first time and awesome the hundredth time you listen to it. Actually, I searched on John Adorney to see if he had any new albums as I've got all four and looking for more. Also, it's interesting to see what else John Adorney lovers listen to."
