CD ReviewsNever give up a search for a product Carol Pritchett | 06/04/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "For many years I'd searched within music markets for the exact recording of Yellow Dog Blues that was a hit in 1957 when I was in high school. Finally, typing 1957 Hit song Yellow Dog Blues, in a regular search engine, turned up one entry listing this CD, and contained information that this artist was made famous by that hit in 57. This particular CD released as a CD in 2003, was recorded in 1972 Columbia, SC sessions. This Yellow Dog Blues has an added catchy percussion dimention to the 1957 single version, but the delightful flavor is the same. I love this Yellow Dog Blues a little more every time I hear it. The CD has a great mix of other jazz and blues numbers. Nobody to follow Joe quite got Yellow Dog Blues "right" for those of us hooked on it in 57. Joe just has that magic sound."
