After 25 years of playing piano nightly for live audiences, Joe Augustine has developed a recognizable trademark style: it features sophisticated chording, an imaginative yet respectful treatment of the melody, and an agile, percussive left hand. Mix Joe and a top-notch bass player and drummer with a set of classic and modern pop standards, and you have a recipe for rich, fun-filled, energized music. With a talented and lyrical sax player sitting in on half the tunes, this cooking ensemble fills the air with alive and high-stepping sounds that make it truly a marvelous night for a Moondance!
Great, sexy jazz style:good for dinner, listening, whatever!

"There is music that you really just want to stop and listen to and this is it. Every cut is great! Joe Augustine is superb on piano and Matt Ferarro on half the cuts playing sax has incredible sax appeal. The tunes are current and not so current standards and I especially enjoy the arrangements- some up beat, some dreamingly slow. Dinner music, cocktail music, some dancing music, music with someone you want to share lots with...its all here."
Music Too Cool

"Are you kidding... Joe Augustine is the greatest! This is the cool cat music you'd hear in a smokey dark bar from years gone by - only better! This is magic performed on the piano - with passion! You'll be hooked once you listen."
A Good Time

"There is nothing musically profound about this disk. None of the musicians are big names. But I must confess that this CD won me over, because listening to it reminds me of how pleasant it is to hear music done well even if it is not original or profound. Joe Augustine is a pianist who on this recording leads a standard jazz quartet comprising piano, bass, saxophone, and drums. Most of the tunes are covers, with a few originals thrown in. Picture yourself at a good restaurant, enjoying a satisfying meal, and then a local jazz quartet sets up in the corner and begins to play. The tunes are familiar, the musicians are good, and everybody has a good time. There is something to be said for that kind of musical performance, and this CD captures that mood exactly. It may not be profound, but it surely is enjoyable."
