Breakthrough: What Can Happen When You Say "Yes" to God
Vivian M. Feggans | 11/29/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Jocelyn didn't know it, but when she was just a toddler her grandmother sung a song with the same title as "Search My Heart" from her album. Jocelyn's version says, "Lord, search my heart, if you find anything not of you, take it away `cause I don't want it, I just want to do your will." Her grandmother's version said, "Lord please search my heart! If you find anything that shouldn't be, take it out and straighten me." She was as amazed by this coincidence, but then realized that when serving the extraordinary God, one should expect the extraordinary to happen. Jocelyn's first album, "The iNDI1st Project...Breakthrough," is anything but a coincidence; it was predestined for a time such as this. The songs tell Jocelyn's stories about the power of God's love in her life. Together they weave a story that about a young woman who, after fighting it tooth and nail finally said "Yes!" to God's call on her life. That call was to use her instrument of voice to sing about the peace, joy, happiness and power we can find in the presence of God our lives. The lyrics and her powerful vocal delivery will remind you that God has kept you safe and whole; perhaps like me, in spite of myself. My favorite track is number 10, "Until You Bless Me." It's Indigo's appeal to God that she will remain steadfast in prayer; she "ain't goin'nowhere until you bless me!" Everytime I play it I get 'caught-up' in praise because it reminds me about so many of my own prayers that God has answered. All of the songs are originals; many composed by Jocelyn aka Indigo herself."
